Brief: To create an advert promoting The Bead Shop Nottingham, especially their unique range of kits to be published in both printed and digital copies of Bead & Jewellery Magazine.

Solution: I was provided with a selection of kits and items to choose from and a rough idea of the composition the team liked. There were also certain items that the team specifically wanted included, for example; the 'Barnaby Owl Kit' in the top left corner. I chose a purplish background to add colour to the piece, whilst in-keeping with the brand identity. As their logo colour is purple I selected items in purple shades and similar colours. I added extra items to set the scene, like tools and a bead mat (all items stocked at the shop); I wanted the image to look relatable, inspiring and tell the story of someone's creative craft space. After capturing the photograph and sizing it to the magazines specifications I then worked on the editing. I made general brightness and colour enhancements as well as rearranging and adding some of the items seen in the finished image. Once the picture was completed, the required text could be added using the font and colour specific to The Bead Shop's branding.

Software and Equipment used: Nikon 5300, Photoshop, camera RAW, InDesign, Interfit lights, photo board, light tent.
