Brief: This series was a personal project that developed when I was researching alternative uses for out of date loose leaf tea. There weren't many ideas out there but there were plenty of beautiful images of the tea, so I wanted to create my own.

Solution: The above image was my main vision for this idea, which I photographed from above, I then took additional close up pictures to compliment this piece. I wanted to create a slightly dark, really natural, clean, cool aesthetic with these pieces. I only wish I had a macro lens for some extreme close ups too! I chose a light, open space and used mostly natural light, adding small amounts of artificial lighting in varying positions to lift shadows or add highlights, depending on the composition for each shot. I chose a selection of relevant props including slate placemats to act as the backdrop, in keeping with the dark, cool aesthetic I was aiming for. I then enhanced the photographs using Photoshop. I smoothed the background, cropped the images, worked on the colours to create the cool look, whilst enhancing certain colours, adjusted the exposure as well general clean up

Software and Equipment used: Photoshop, Wacom, Canon, Apple Mac, Camera Raw and a bright household lamp.
